Michael C. McCarthy concentrates his practice in the areas Elder Law, Probate and Estate Administration, Real Estate Transactions and Guardianship.

Mr. McCarthy is a member of the Elder Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. Prior to his admission to the bar in 2006, Mr. McCarthy was appointed as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the New York City Law Department. He participated in numerous hearings, oral arguments, discovery proceedings, depositions, and trials. Subsequent to his departure from the New York City Law Department, Mr. McCarthy practiced family law, wherein he counseled clients, authored numerous motions and appellate briefs, engaged in extensive discovery proceedings and perfected appeals.

In addition to holding a Masters Degree in Education, Mr. McCarthy earned his Juris Doctorate degree as a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Touro Law School Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. At Touro, he was a Faculty Fellow and in the Honor Society for Academic Excellence. His academic excellence was further highlighted by the CALI Academic Excellence Awards he achieved in Federal Civil Procedure, New York Civil Procedure, Jurisprudence, and Legal Methods I (Writing). He was also appointed Professor Assistant/Research Assistant Contracts during his law school career.

Mr. McCarthy is admitted to the practice of law in New York State.
